Courtney Vashaw

Courtney Vashaw is a mother, writer, actor, community coordinator, and badass librarian. Her life’s work has been that of service in the areas of education, public policy and advocacy, and local non-profits. A lifelong resident of New Hampshire’s North Country, she is a woman of diverse skills and talents. On a given day you may find her chairing a local board meeting, writing a grant, fixing a roof, running a library, troubleshooting a global crisis with international bigwigs, rehearsing music for her next show, mucking a horse stall (occasionally in formalwear), and/or napping. She really likes words, both her own and those of others, and has been known to turn them into money for the organizations she loves.

Courtney is pretty sure she should play the lottery more, and unwittingly lives the “go big or go home” adage by being a “miracle” survivor of a one-in-million cancer. She is very excited that she has lived long enough to be getting grey hair. Seriously.

She lives in the North Country of New Hampshire with her wife, children, and menagerie of creatures great and small. Tragically she is not to be trusted with houseplants.
